Nudge: Terms of Use
Last updated: 6 November 2026
The agreement
These terms are between you and Ashley Gillam, an individual based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"), who runs Nudge: For Couples ("Nudge"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Nudge.
You must be 18 or over to use Nudge. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Your account and your partner
Give us accurate details and keep your sign-in private. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us at support@s3apps.co.uk if you think someone else has got in.
Nudge works best when two people link their accounts with a pairing code. Only link with someone who has agreed to it, and only share your code with them. You can unlink at any time in Settings. Linking gives your partner the access described in our Privacy Policy, and unlinking ends it.
Your content
You own what you write and save in Nudge, such as wishes, notes, the gestures in your Hearth and your photo. You give us permission to store it and show it to you and, where the app is designed to, to your linked partner, only so we can run the service.
Some prompts are intimate (After Dark). That content is for consenting adults and is off until you turn it on. Use it only with a partner who is comfortable with it.
Acceptable use
Nudge is for kindness between two people. Please do not:
- harass, pressure, coerce or threaten anyone, or use Nudge to monitor or control a partner;
- link with, or try to link with, someone who has not agreed to it, or guess other people's pairing codes;
- upload a photo of someone else without their permission, or anything unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit involving anyone under 18;
- try to break, overload or reverse engineer the app, or reach data that is not yours;
- use Nudge for anything commercial without our written permission.
Notifications, premium and changes to the app
Nudge sends notifications inside the windows you choose, and reminders you set yourself for gestures in your Hearth. You can turn them off at any time in your phone's settings.
Nudge is free to use. Premium is an optional subscription bought through the App Store, and Apple's terms also apply to that purchase.
- Shared: if either of you subscribes, both linked partners have premium while you stay linked. If you unlink, only the person who pays keeps it.
- Price and period: monthly or yearly, at the price shown in the App Store before you buy.
- Free trial: new subscribers may get a free trial (14 days on the yearly plan, 7 days on the monthly plan). Apple charges you when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple account, then Subscriptions. You keep premium until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds: Apple handles payments and decides refund requests, through reportaproblem.apple.com.
- When premium ends: everything you made stays. Anything over the free limits stays visible, but only up to the free amount can be used.
We keep improving Nudge, so features can change or be removed. If we make a change that clearly worsens what you paid for, we will tell you.
Ending things
You can stop using Nudge and delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel that in your Apple account settings. Your data is then deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, harms another person or puts the service at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first.
Advice, guarantees and liability
Nudge offers ideas and reminders. It is not relationship counselling, therapy, medical or legal advice, and it cannot promise any result for your relationship.
We provide the app with reasonable care and skill, but it is provided "as is", and we do not promise it will always be available or error free. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law as a consumer, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
Changes, law and contact
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app if the change matters. Using Nudge after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes, though if you live elsewhere in the UK or the EU you keep the right to use your local courts and consumer protections. Questions: support@s3apps.co.uk.
